A Hero in My Life

Generous. Smart. Caring. These are the words that come to my mind to describe my mom.

Mom wasn’t just the person who raised me; she was also one of my closest friends. She was always ready to listen to my stories. She gave me advice. She was my hero.

In May 2011, mom was diagnosed with cancer. The news came to my sister and me while we were on the dining table celebrating her birthday. Imagine how shocked we were.

Mom underwent medical treatments, and things got better. From 2012 to 2014, she lived a relatively normal life.

In the beginning of this year, however, the cancer returned. It got worse after mom’s birthday in May.

Mom passed away on the early morning of July 15. She was 60.

Rest in peace my beloved mommy. I love you so much.

Your mother is so beautiful and will be beautiful wherever she is!! She will be the guardian of your life, as she has been since you were born. Our parents leave this world, but they never leave us. I lost my father three years ago, he died of cancer, too. Time does not sooth the loss, but proves that there is support and love from our parents even if they are not with us anymore. My sincere condoleances and may God rest her in peace!

  3. I’m so very, very sorry for your loss.

What a beautiful picture. I hope that you carry your equally beautiful memories with you for the rest of your life.

  4. Mother ,she is heaven on earth and she is someone who’s love is Gods presence on earth. she is one who gives , gives and gives never asks in return. I am reminded of my own mother who passed away after a stroke and left my house empty. I can feel the grief you and your sister must have gone through. my prayers go with you to bear this loss. She looks like a beautiful mother.

  11. Donald,

I would like to extend my deepest condolences and prayers out to you and your family. I felt a bit sad from after reading your latest post. It was even surprising to me that you were able to write a new post, even though it was about your mom’s passing. That sure is persevering strength to do it.

Another note, I would like to personally thank you for sending me encouraging posts from over the past years. They have helped me tremendously whenever I tend to have a bad day or whenever I needed a little inspiration to pick myself up. You have been a blessing when you take the time to share your wisdom and knowledge out to the world.

You are in my prayers. I pray for your strength to be rebuild and healing spreaded out to your family. May God help restore His healing towards you.

  12. My deepest condolences. It must be terrible to lose our mom. Like another writer said…hold on to your memories because they will make you stronger. May her soul rest in peace.

It was really hard at first but that’s life is all about. People come and go, the important thing is we made everything special and memorable when we were with them.
