Ask the Readers: What Are Your Favorite Productivity Tools?

If you want to get the most out of life, you need to become productive. Productive people can get more valuable things done in less time.

Note that I said valuable. Productivity is not about getting anything done; it’s about getting the right things done. If you can get more of the right things done, then you are productive. If you get a lot of things done, but they are not the right things, then you are not productive. Being busy doesn’t necessarily mean being productive.

Fortunately, there are plenty of tools that can help you become productive. These could be apps on your smartphone, or even just pen and paper.

I’d like to know how you are being productive, so here is my question to you:

What are your favorite productivity tools and why?
(If it’s an app, please mention the name of the app)

Please leave your answer in the comments so that everyone can read it. Thanks!

  1. I love Toggl Timer, Asana, and Inbox by Gmail! Each of them help me keep track of my time and tasks and allow me to review what I have spent my time on in the past. This lets me have an unbiased look at my time and make adjustments to how I work. I gave Inbox by Gmail a try years ago and couldn’t get into it. They made some tweaks to the UI and I am loving it for the last few months. Great alternative to apps that make you pay to do similar tasks!

    • Oh…and how could I forget my two favorites! Lauchbar and aText. Launchbar is a stronger Spotlight search for free. aText is just a text expander so I would highly recommend any text expander. It will change your life if you find yourself typing a lot in your work!

  9. Hello sir ,

How you will define valuable Productivity ? It is a subjective term .

” VP ” ( Valuable productivity ) starts from thinking . Thinking is based on the Brain design by God / Nature / genetic. In my opinion , every human being is designed / created with some purpose /for some value . eg : Small ant and elephant activities.. In Human beings also some are with ant and some are with elephant characteristics by nature. we can fine tune only to some extent the basic thinking and then action. eg : Kings and Beggers approach and productivity to add values.
