How Has Your Year Been?

We are now at the end of March, which means that a quarter has passed in 2015. So I think it’s a good time to reflect on how your year has been:

  • Has it been a good year so far?
  • Have you achieved some of your goals?
  • Are you on track to achieve your other goals?
  • What can you do differently for the rest of the year?

In my case, my first quarter wasn’t as good as it should be. I haven’t been productive enough in my work. So I’m now experimenting with a technique to increase my productivity.

On the other hand, I have achieved one of my goals this year: staying for a while in another place to experience the life there. In February, my wife and I stayed for almost two weeks in Ubud, Bali. While we were there, we joined a co-working space and interacted with people from different nationalities. It was an exciting experience. It was only two weeks, but it has taught me some useful lessons.

Of course, there is still a lot more to achieve this year. One of my goals is to take my app business to the next level. The release of Apple Watch next month seems like a good opportunity for that.

What about you? How has your year been? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

  1. My year is having its share of ups and downs, but like everything else in life, I move on from the worst of times. I consider it a growing experience. As long as I keep a strong foundation under me, things will flow well

  2. I can’t believe it’s already April honestly. Every year seems to speed up just that little bit faster. I wish I could say my quarter has been everything I wanted, but it just seems like a lot of early setbacks that will end up being (hopefully) better in the long haul. Kinda playing the wait and see game right now.

  3. I and my wife????

“My wife and I” is a much much better construct!!

  4. Donald,
I have visited countless blogs and I really admire your work. I have dabbled in setting a website and was not happy with my work because I felt I was heading no where with the project. I love to write blogs and sustain a website and I feel I need pro guidance.Do you have a coach or mentor? I am looking for a pro mentor/coach, if you can help.

There are plenty on the web where you pay the money and have access to loads of PDFs and video. I am looking for personal coaching-

    1) critique my site objectively
    2) advice me on getting attention and readership
    3) guide me in providing value
    4) guidance to solving website issues
    5) guidnace for monetization effort in the future

I know you are not compelled to help but if you can I will really be grateful.
I live in Penang, Malaysia. Thanks

    SSlim,

    • Hi Stu,
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it.

To answer your question, no, I don’t have a mentor in blogging. I only learn from various resources and apply what I’ve learned.

I don’t think I can give you detailed help, but I’ll be happy to point you to the resources that you might find helpful.

      • Donald,
Also just found out that your are listed in the top 101 posivity blogs. Really proud of you.
I would be glad if you can point me to a good guru. I can write but I am uncertain in navigating the vast web and also understanding how to attract traffic etc.
        Thanks
        stu lim

  5. My first part of the year has actually been rather fruitful. I’ve been practicing mindfulness and have removed the word “can’t” from my vocabulary and it’s done wonders so far. Trying to do this often enough to make a habit of it, but so far so good! Glad to hear things are going so well for you and that you’re still exploring our big world.
