The Key Mindset for Your Personal Growth

When it comes to your personal growth, your mindset plays an important role. If you have the right mindset, you will grow much. But if you don’t, you will hinder your own growth.

Your mindset in this case could be either fixed mindset or growth mindset.

Fixed mindset believes that your abilities are fixed. You are either good at something or you aren’t. If you believe that you aren’t good at math, for instance, then you will take it as a fact that can never change. Fixed mindset is the enemy of personal growth.

Growth mindset, on the other hand, believes that you can always develop your abilities. You might not be good at something now, but that doesn’t mean that you can never be good at it. Instead, you believe that if you put in the effort, the situation can and will change. You believe that you can grow.

You shouldn’t let your past experiences or even your own thoughts put limiting beliefs in you. Just because you failed at something in the past doesn’t mean that you can never be good at it. Just because someone said so doesn’t mean that you can’t. You can get better at anything as long as you put in the effort.

Check yourself. Does fixed mindset hold you back? Is there a field where you believe you can never grow? If there is, then replace the mindset with a growth mindset. Change your self-talk. Say “I can” instead of “I can’t”. You still need to put in the hard work, of course, but the important thing is that you can.

There’s a lot of potential in you waiting to be realized. Don’t let the wrong mindset keep it locked. Have the right mindset. Believe that you can grow. The world will become a better place if you do.

  1. Great article! This has reminded me not to give up as I attempt to improve, for improvement is possible! 😀 (P.S: Sorry for not using my real name, I prefer not to use it in most situations)

  2. Is there any way that I can download it on the computer? Thanks,

  3. Go for growth. I read a really good book called “Bounce” about the talent myth by Matthew Syed. In summary there’s no such thing as a naturally gifted chess player, composer or table tennis pro (or whatever you wish to be). It’s alll about purposeful practice and caring enough to become good at what you chose.
And there’s evidence that as we get older we’re no less able to develop new skills. If we beleive anything apart from that we can grow and develop then we’re cheating ourselves.
