[...] The art of arbitrage - I believe - is the key to living smart. It allows you to get much more given the same amount of effort. What you do there is connecting to different worlds and then leveraging the “price differences” between them to your advantage. It’s just like what the merchants do in trading, only in this case you apply the principle to many different areas of your life. [...]

Abhijit:
I may miss something, but I'd rather say that it's an art rather than science. While there are some rules we can use in practice, I think intuition and creativity play a more important role.

Theresa:
A thought-provoking comment, Theresa :)
You are right, there is a great feeling in helping others and that is a great reward in itself. Sometimes we are so focused on "receiving" that we forget the "joy of giving".

Our world is usually a lot smaller than we believe it to be, but stepping outside the box is always fun and exciting!

I think bringing individuals together than either need something or have something to offer each other (or a group of individuals) has an energy all its own. When you are asked by one person - and not knowing the answer seek it out and turnaround and share it - and the joy the receiver expresses... you can't deny it's a great feeling!

Also by stepping outside the norm to learn new things - even if those steps are initially scary - is always worth the risk. When we decide we're "smart enough" that, to me, is a very sad thing. Our job is to always learn and grow.

Again thanks for another great, thought-provoking read :)

Interesting term, arbitrage. Again, isn't learning how to derive maximum value out of this arbitrage is a science that needs to be learned?
