I quite appreciate your view. Doing what we love to do brings out our creativity and zeal to the full extent which leaves very little chance of failures or mistakes.

Ruth,
I'm not sure if it fits your need, but I think reading Career Renegade by Jonathan Fields could be helpful. It contains advice on how to build a career based on your passions.

Oct 2008 I was pushed out of a well paid but demanding job. It was in an area of work that I love but the workplace was a fractured and difficult one and not one to which I was suited, though I stayed there for 8 years. I had a bit of a breakdown but was offered two jobs (less money and responsibilty) immediately as I have a good reputation. I am back on my feet, my new employers want me to stay but I feel dissatisfied as I am earning less and without as much responsibilty. On the whole though I am happier, still single but have a couple of admirers (not my type), an untidy house, but I am eager to feel under more pressure. I do not understand... I have started gardening for the first time in 9 years. Should I accept I cannot take on too much responsibilty? Or should I study (though I am not sure a masters will be a sure way to get promotion, as others less qualified than I are doing much better then me)? I have been also trying to meet someone but to no avail... I have two great kids, twwo jobs I like, free time, friends but need something else. Any ideas?

I agree enthusiastically, wholeheartedly & unequivocally with your 5 Reasons.

I'd like to add one more: You will enjoy better health and a greater sense of well-being.

Your heart rate responds favourably to positive thoughts and emotions which allows you to fully experience # 1 to 5.
